Spring is sprung

With spring finally here, it was time to leave the south behind and make my way back up to the Outer Hebrides again.

Heading northwards again, I wanted to stop over at Morcombe again. There’s something special that I love about the aesthetics and architecture of classic English seaside towns

It’s a handy halfway stopover point on a long drive. Great views and walk along the prom, plus of course, good fish and chips too!

One of the benefits of slightly longer daylight hours is that it gives you a bit longer to walk around and explore an area. Nice to see this sculpture honouring the comic legend that was Eric Morecambe.

Sunset sendoff

You also get to experience some stunning sunsets, what’s not to like?

Got an early start in the morning. Time to stock up on some food supplies, and set my sights for Scotland next…

Art attack

A few years ago, I visited the fantastic Jupiter Artland, a project by the artist and renowned landscape architect Charles Jencks. It’s a contemporary sculpture park and art gallery just outside of Edinburgh.

It must have been a few years ago now, as the Splitty looks a lot less ragged and rusty in this picture from my original visit. That plus no yellow head and spotlights either.

Lush landscape

Some of the pieces, such as ‘Life Mounds’ by Charles Jencks, are the landscape itself.

It’s art that you could walk in and on, that would change over time, that had seasons and could also be cut with a lawn mower!

Ambient art

Jupiter Artland was shortlisted as museum of the year back in 2016. It’s an art gallery set in magnificent grounds and woodlands where you experience and discover art in an all-new way.

Amazing place, quite unlike any other traditional ’art gallery’ (if you could even call it that) that I’d ever been to before. If you’re ever in the area, it’s well worth a visit.

Abandoned attraction

More recently, though, I had heard about another art project that Jencks had also been involved with that I wanted to visit next. Although abandoned and unfinished, it sounded like an interesting place to check out.

I just had to find it first… stay tuned, folks, for more updates.

No AI churn here

Hopefully, by now, you can tell that all of my written and image content is self-generated.

It may not be perfect; a bit rough and ragged around the edges. Grammar and writing are not my forte; it’s a struggle and takes me an age to write anything.

However, it is my own personal, authentic, and individual take on things; it’s all done by me. I do not, and will not ever use AI to produce generic churn for vdubxs.com – that is just not how I roll!

All of this is produced by my human hand. It’s an important part of the creative process for me. If you appreciate this in any way, please feel free to like, share, or otherwise let me know.

Hey, you could even go crazy and maybe Buy Me a Coffee if you wanted.
