Whilst working in the drivers side inner wheel arch, there was a previous repair on the lower corner area. It looked OK on the surface and had been over painted to look like all was well.
However having seen some examples of the quality of previous ‘repair’ work that have been found on the Early Bay, it was thought best that it was examined to make sure all was well…
Unfortunately yet again, the surface appearance of supposed ‘beauty’ in this instance was barely paint deep! The ‘repair’ was a poorly disguised bodge that attempted to just cover over the issues rather than actually resolve the underlying problems!
The guys at Southern Kombi Parts have high standards and there was no way this was going to sneak through, so the bodge ‘repair’ was stripped back to fully reveal the extent of the real work needed to carry out a proper repair!
As you can see, the real repair was not just needed on the outside, but some of the inner structure needed repair work as well!
It beggars belief that people can actually do that sort of thing, if you are going to do a job, do it right, do it once!
There are way too many horror stories concerning shiny looking VW’s that underneath the shiny gloss, hide a multitude of sins – well this bus is not going to be one of them!
It is going to be 100% solid underneath with a superb paint job on top, so that you know it will not only look
good great fantastic on the surface, but it will equally be totally 100% solid underneath as well! No horror stories here thank-you very much!
