Vantastic is back again for 2019
After the success of last years Vantastic VW show event, it was that time of the year again for Vantastic 2019.

All sorts of air-cooled
It’s always good to support your local car show, and as the show happens on my doorstep, there’s literally no excuse. It’s the only VW car show I know where I can literally walk around the corner to it carrying my own mug of tea, it’s that close!

The show is put on by a local charity that supports Autism, so hopefully, the event with the draw of classic VW campers will help raise money to support their work. It’s a good cause that’s worth supporting.

Once again there was a good turn out of vehicles and people who came to the show for a mixture of live music, some good food and of course, to see the various VW’s in attendance.
Air and water do mix
This year seemed a few more water-cooled rather than air-cooled VW’s, but I guess this is happening more and more at various shows?

That said, it was good to see a mix. Life would be boring if it was all the same.

über cool camper
Lorna really loved this super cool South African built, Jurgen’s Autovilla camper. A really compact little camper that you could stand up in. This type of conversion reminded me of the bigger Karmann Gypsy conversions seen on later T25’s or T4’s?

Great to see that it’s interior was still largely intact and original, it really looked amazing. Very retro-chic!

All in all, it was a fun day out, and even the late afternoon drizzle didn’t dampen the enjoyment. Thanks to all who were involved in putting on the event! 🙂
