Memory making road trip
Having got back from my mini European road trip to take in the amazing vintage VW show that is Hessisch Oldendorf in Germany, it was nice to have some time to catch up with my wife and kids again. Whilst its great fun being away, it’s always great to catch up when I get back!

Lorna had finished the first year of her 2 year MA at the Royal College of Art in London, so now had the rest of the summer off. Now I was back, one of the first things she wanted to do, was to go for a ride in the bus out to the desolate beauty of Dungeness. It’s one of our favourite places to go and relax.

Exploring Dungeness
Even after 1,600+ miles on the road, I still enjoy being behind the wheel, so as the weather was good, we backed some bits and headed off for a day trip. It was lovely just to spend some time together and chill. Lorna was happy to be knitting for fun in the sun, I was happy just to be back with her 🙂

Dungeness is one of our favourite spots to drive out to. I love its quirkiness and it’s remote, abandoned landscape. Great place to unwind and be inspired.

Lorna approves
Dinner for two in the bus was a pleasant change from my solo adventures and cooking. It was Lorna’s first opportunity to fully experience the revamped interior and try out the table I’d made. Nice to know she loved it as much as me! Its practicality has really transformed how we can use the bus now. It feels like a proper camper at last!

I had a forthcoming work project coming up so would be away for a while, so it’s great to make the most of every opportunity whilst here. Little escapes out in the camper link this are what it’s all about for us. Happy memory-making moments 🙂
