A journey of transformation
It seemed like a good idea at the time. An Early Bay Westfalia SO67 camper, what’s not to like?
I had just sold a VW bus when I saw this Early Bay Westfalia for sale. I was toying with getting another camper, and Bay campers had the advantage over splitscreen buses in that they often came with camper interiors.

An Early Bay Westfalia seemed like a great option, especially as it had pretty much all of its original interior with it. Unfortunately, it had no history with it and wasn’t an original paint bus. I was taking a chance on this one. Hopefully, it wasn’t hiding too many nasties under the fairly rudimentary paint job…

Unfortunately, it wasn’t too long before issues started to present themselves. It was a case of do I bail on it, or do I go in and get the camper sorted from top to bottom?

In the end, I decided to get the bus sorted and returned more or less to its original stock factory condition again. It was a long road, with many issues along the way. Was it worth it in the end?
It was quite a journey from start to finish. Read all about it below…
